Rover 114 GTi MPI Engine Mods

Postby rostefix » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:15 am

Hi,

I've been offered a Rover 114 GTi MPI by a friend. The cylinder head gasket and clutch is gone, so I'm thinking about taking the engine out and rebuilding it. Doing some research on wikipedia etc. I found it can be easily modified to 130bhp - that's what I want to do.

Does anyone know which modifications have to be done? I don't want to try around because buying a spare cylinder head or flywheel is very expensive here in germany. So if anyone knows how much to machine away from the flywheel and what to do with the rest of the engine help me make her a race-rover ;-)

thank you,

Bastian

A popular swap is to fit a 1.6 or 1.8l K series which should pretty much drop straight in.
